    Meet David

My greatest strength as an attorney is being able to communicate with my clients to find out exactly what they are looking for and deliver that to them. Clients come in with a wide range of understanding about estate planning. Some clients have done some reading, and others have been told by a friend what to do. I make sure to find exactly what the client knows and understands, and help bridge the gap to what they need to know in order to move forward.

My clients most often are looking to create a will and/or a trust, find clarity in how a deceased loved one’s estate will pass on to their family and what steps are involved, or prepare for a family member’s long-term care. I am the attorney for them because I am able to parse out complex issues into simpler ones, identify key facts and details that are most important, and apply the laws and regulations to ensure my client is receiving the best advice.

I come from a family of physicians and nurses, so I understand the value of comfort and care in more worrisome and uncertain times. I chose to practice law because it offers a cohesive combination of analytical thinking and helping clients resolve stressful or complex situations. My parents instilled a strong work ethic and high level of empathy in me growing up. My wife, Jaclyn, continues to encourage me to try to understand others and look at the world from different points of view.

I enjoy exploring the food and culture of Charlotte with my wife and taking our dog, Emma, camping and hiking. Hiking is much easier when your dog pulls you up the mountain.
