Kristin Smith has more than 17 years of experience in domestic relations and civil litigation. As a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, Kristin has served in many leadership capacities including co-chair of the Family Law Section and Chair of the Young Lawyers Division.

A graduate of Duke University and the University of Georgia School of Law, Kristin served on the Editorial Board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law while in law school. She also received the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Criminal Procedure.

As a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, Kristin has served in leadership capacities including Co-Chair of the Family Law Section and Chair and member of the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Division. She also is a member of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and has served on the Family Law Council, the elected governing body of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

Kristin was selected to serve a three-year term on the Mecklenburg County Bar Grievance Committee which investigates complaints from the public on ethical issues under the North Carolina State Bar Rules of Professional Conduct. She has been rated in a confidential survey of area judges and attorneys as having high to very high legal ability and very high ethical standards.

Kristin is active in the community and currently serves as Secretary and member of the board of the Bruce Irons Camp Fund, a charitable organization that sends underprivileged children to summer camp.
