Minette Trosch focuses on family law and is trained in the collaborative law process, a dignified, cooperative approach to negotiating and settling issues arising from a family separation without going to court. She is a member of the Mecklenburg County Collaborative Family Law Practice Group and was appointed to the Mecklenburg County Domestic Court Committee.

An honors graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, Minette was inducted into the school's prestigious Davis Society in recognition of her integrity, leadership and scholarship, and she won the Advanced Family Law Award. She co-founded Child Action, an organization dedicated to children's legal issues including adoption and child support/child custody.

Minette has been rated in a confidential survey of area judges and attorneys as having high to very high legal ability and very high ethical standards.

Prior to her legal practice, Minette had a distinguished career in public service. She served five terms on the Charlotte City Council and was elected to serve a term as Mayor Pro Tempore. She also was elected to the National League of Cities' Board of Directors.

Minette was appointed to the National Institute of Environmental Health Services Advisory Council by the US Secretary of Health and Human Services and was an appointee to the Governor's Urban Transportation Task Force. In addition, she was appointed by then US Secretary of Transportation Elizabeth Dole to serve on the federal Hazardous Materials Advisory Committee. Minette has testified before Congress, and she served as a negotiator in a congressional process that created a Federal Telecommunications Act.

Minette was featured at the Levine Museum of the New South as one of the "Remarkable Women Who Made History" in Charlotte. Her papers are part of UNCC's special collections archives. She also was inducted into the Order of the Hornet by the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, an honor awarded for outstanding contributions to the community.

Minette also served as CEO of Take-A-Break, Inc., a retail convenience store chain.

Minette Trosch was studying at UNC School of Law at the same time that her son, Bill Trosch, was at UNC School of Law and son Eric Trosch, who later attended Wake Forest Law School, was a freshman at UNC. She was presented for admission to the Mecklenburg County Bar in 1995 by her husband, Lou Trosch, and her father, the late T.C. Conrad. Minette and Lou have a third son, Lou, Jr., and seven grandchildren.
